I thought that was funny because it can be true. But it doesn’t have to be the reality. Part of the process is getting all the ideas out onto the drawing board.

Over the years we have dealt with a myriad of logos and ideas. Sometimes a customer has a sketch on paper. Sometimes it is just a blob of text to paint a picture. Sometimes it is an actual vector drawing. All of these methods work fine to help communicate the idea.

Here is the general process:

  • How do we visually represent your business?
  • What is most important?
  • Are we after bright colors or simple and concise?
• Plan the outcome
  • Start with the end in mind
  • Where are we going to use this?
    • What print methods?
    • Website? Mailing list?
• Implement initial designs
  • Digital mock-ups
  • Typically vector artwork
• Finalize the design
  • While changes can be made down the road, this is the time to figure out the little details
• Pre-production Samples
  • At the bare minimum I will print your logo to a hat to make sure it works
  • We can also catch design issues here so that we don’t waste resources on bad design
• Final Production
